Pupil Premium Explained
The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and is additional funding that the government gives to schools for each pupil on roll where they are in receipt of free school meals, pupils who are ‘Looked After’, and pupils from Service Families.
The money must be spent on that pupil to support their education, but it is for the school to determine how it is spent. Schools must spend the grant for the educational benefit of their eligible pupils. The grant can be spent on services that benefit pupils at the school.
Here at the Ingoldmells Academy, we will work hard to support all pupils. We will regularly review our actions and their impact and add or remove initiatives to ensure continued success, raised aspirations and to limit social exclusion. We will track the progress of all pupils and also pupils’ in receipt of pupil premium funding to demonstrate how the funding is being used.
Please be aware that Academy staff are bound by ‘confidentiality rules’ on all matters pertinent to pupils’ educational needs, their care and health needs and their well-being.
