Your safety is really important to us, whether in school or out, online or off.
When using your computer at home or in school please remember these simple SMART rules-
S is for SAFE- Don’t give out information like your full name and address. Don’t put pictures online of you in your Academy uniform.
M is for MEETING- Never agree to meet someone you’ve only met online.
A is for ACCEPTING- Don’t accept messages or information from strangers.
R is for Reliable-People online could be lying about who they are- stick to reliable people you know.
T is for TELL-Let an adult know straight away if you feel you are being bullied online.
At the Ingoldmells Academy we will do everything we can to make sure that you learn in a safe environment. Our assembly themes regularly feature safety. In October the police visited us to deliver their e-safety messages and in December, Year 6 children visited the Crucial Crew in Rotherham to learn more about staying safe. This also covered aspects of e-safety.
If you do feel unsafe at any time, tell an adult you trust so that we know about the problem and can deal with it.
Ryan Smith Foundation Assembly
Members of the Ryan Smith Foundation visited the Academy recently to stress the importance of wearing a cycle helmet. They will be revisiting us soon to update us on Ryan’s progress after his accident last summer.
There are many fundraising events in the local area for this good cause to support Ryan and his family in raising awareness of cycle helmet wearing.
Year 5 recently had Bikeability training to ensure they are safe road users. They wore their cycle helmets at all times during road use and were awarded certificates during a safety assembly.
