Attendance
Ingoldmells Academy is committed to providing an education of the highest quality for all pupils. We believe it is extremely important for pupils to attend regularly and on time. This will give them the best opportunity to progress and succeed at school.
Ensuring a child’s regular attendance at school is a parent / carer’s legal responsibility and permitting absence from school without a good reason may result in prosecution.
How to notify the academy of an absence:
- If your child is unable to attend school due to illness or unavoidable circumstances, please contact the school on each day of absence by telephoning the school office on 01754 872989, text message via our online App EDUSPOT (previously Groupcall Messanger) or by emailing the school office on admin@ingoldmellsacademy.org.
- Please inform us of any planned absence in advance, this includes unavoidable medical appointments during the school day.
- To inform us about a planned absence, please complete exceptional absences form which can be located in the school office or be requested from the school office to be sent via email to you.'
Authorised and Unauthorised Absences
We are unable to authorise holiday absence during term time. Our Academy appreciates the seasonal nature of employment in our local area, and, along with other local schools, has rearranged the school year to incorporate a two-week holiday in the October/November half-term to allow for holidays without impacting pupil attendance.
Parents are reminded that they are required by law to inform the Academy, in writing or by telephone, of the reason for any absence on the part of their child/children.
